'Breathing is Irrelevant' starts with an all-pervasive scream that sets the tone for an erratic onslaught of terror which is relentlessly drilled into your head with machine-like precision. And when it was unleashed on an unsuspecting underground in 2003, it truly pushed the envelope to a whole new level.
Ion Dissonance apparently thought 'Calculating Infinity' lacked brutality, 'Chaosphere' was too straight forward and 'Obscura' could have used some maniacal chaos on top of its off-kilter atonality. Or why else would they take these influences, chew them up and spit them back out in the shape of razorblades dipped in acid?
Spazzy, dissonant outbursts, polyrhythmic madness and a truly tortured vocal performance dominate this record. The only counter-balance comes in the shape of equally dominating and absolutely pulverizing breakdowns. In other words, Ion Dissonance keep it at 11 at all times.
Remastered for vinyl and digital formats at Sludge Studios, 'Breathing is Irrelevant' now tears you apart with more clarity and precision than ever...
