--LD

Arrogant Bastard Nether is an exasperated gasp of metallic lunacy as chaotic and esoteric as the album's artwork.
Submit and hear, you're better off not fighting it. Favorite track: Eldritch.

about

Being able to write melodies that are as dissonant as they are majestic is an art form not many bands are capable of mastering. Sigil are sharing this talent with very few peers. Castevet or Aeviterne come to mind, but 'Nether' sounds like… well, neither.

The band's unique blend of influences ranges from Post- to Black Metal and even evokes the dynamics and energy of chaotic Hardcore at times.

This may sound ambivalent, but 'Nether' is so well-written that it all comes together in an incredibly coherent and absolutely captivating manner.

Take 'Compounds', for example: It starts off with a furiously chaotic riff, quickly falls into mid-tempo blast beats drenched in dissonant chords and ultimately comes crashing down on you with a desperate heavyness that will hit you where it hurts.

The pleading, raw vocals often serve as the final bit of glue that holds everything together and gives Sigil their unique, emotive sound.

This is some album of the year material without a doubt and you don’t wanna miss it!

For fans of: Castevet, Aeviterne, Krallice
