Bart This is relentless annihilation. I'm not a huge fan of most dissonant metal, and that's not their main focus but they use that controlled chaos. I've been a big fan of blackened death/grind the last few years. This is another great one in that vein. Favorite track: De guerre lasse.

Lorenzo Unrelenting blackened deathgrind chaos made even more impenetrable with scathing dissonance and more murky with a dose of crusty goodness.

Abrasive in the most satisfying way, Pilori present themselves at full force and do not let up with their punishing assault. Even though they are rooted in hardcore, it never feels like anything lacks a specific focus. Specifically, with the spread of genre styles they incorporate, nothing comes across as anything less than fully formed malevolence.

Jay Waltz I’ve been saying that France has some of the best abrasive music in the world, and Pilori is another band that supports my claim.

An outstanding Extreme doom death album, in the best tradition. The funerary atmosphere reminds of Evoken ('Centuries of ooze" bears striking similarities, for my delight). It is overall sharp, dark, hypnotic and unrelenting. One of those rare convincing new bands that hold proud the legacy of the biggest names. Bertrand Marchal
