'Inversion Wave' unfolds its greatness by way of ambivalence. The erratic rhythm work of the verses is disorienting and jarring, only held together by Christian Kolf's distinctive vocal performance.
Resolution awaits in the shape of an absolute epic of a chorus. There is a Shoegaze-y quality to it that just lulls you in, only to spit you out and throw you back into the tumultuous verse.
It may seem like a familiar concept, but Kolf executes it with a grandeur you only find in Owl or his main band Valborg.
