The four songs swivel and swerve to no end, providing ample sonic ground for the listener to explore and discover, by means of Black Metal-nuanced Hardcore met with Grindcore tendencies and experimental electronics, all together composing the greater structure that Malevich is.
'Trembling and Dowsed' showcases the band juxtaposing aggression and intensity alongside patience and atmosphere. Lyrically, Malevich continue their focus on the intersection between existential dread and the oppressive systems under capitalism.

Ultime album de Serpent Column, Kathodos est une perle rare de black metal. Ce qui saute aux yeux, c'est le soin apporté à la dimension technique : Theophonos créé un ensemble d'une cohésion parfaite et utilise des jeux d'échos avec des riffs dévastateurs qui vont et reviennent de manière différente ("Kathodos"/"Anodos", première et septième pistes, etc.). Cet album est en somme un moyen de nous enfermer dans un palais des glaces sur lequel Theophonos tire à coups de boulets de canons. Insane !

Oppressive, heavy grindcore that throws in so many different additional elements, including a whole lot of complex time changes and riffs. "Our Hollow" definitely pays off after multiple listens as there is a hell of a lot going on. But as impressive as the music is, the pointed poetic lyrics are the huge takeaway for me. Make sure to give these lines the attention they deserve, which makes the album that much more rewarding. A very impressive statement.
