I’ve liked everything Ion Dissonance has put out. Shout out to the ‘we are the romans’ and ‘calculating infinity’ references. This record blows those out of the water.

This record basically beats you upside the head from random angles for 41 minutes with no hooks in sight except for the melodic closing track. But it's a testament to Ion Dissonance's uniqueness that the music still holds up almost 2 decades later, not having been relegated to the dustbin of swoopy-haired mathcore with spinny guitar moves. Extra heaviness is the key here, touching on Meshuggah at points and helping lay the foundation for the Total Dissonance Worship universe.
Favorite track: Shut up, I'm Trying to Worry.

This is it. The record I wanted to press since I started Total Dissonance Worship in 2020. 'Solace' is a record that is equally important to me as a fan, as it is as a musician.
Ion Dissonance really pushed beyond all limits when they wrote this material and created a genre classic that is easily sharing the throne with the likes of 'We Are the Romans' and 'Calculating Infinity', and it's time it is recognized as such.
Yet somehow, it sounds more unhinged, angrier and much darker than those albums. Dare I say heavier, too?! The low guitar tuning certainly adds to the massive sonic impact, not to mention the hardest and most erratic breakdowns of all time.
Best of all, the band decided to give this release a complete overhaul in the shape of a remix and remaster by bassist Dom Grimard, who made it sound like a whole new record.
This is how the band intended the record to sound all the way back in 2005. You will discover details that were swallowed by the original mix entirely. In short, this is the ultimate 'Solace' experience.
The original pressing of the album is nothing short of a mystery. No one knows how many were made and the used market prices are insane.
Last, but not least, this is a full-fledged TDW release, not just a licensed title. What does that mean? We are offering the digital for name your price, for starters. And we can offer different formats than just vinyl.
It also means 'Solace' will finally come to all major streaming platforms down the line. We don't have an exact date yet, so be sure to grab the digital to support the band and label.

Quite possibly the most full-on album I've ever listened to. Intense, and then some. 'Digital Tarpit' could describe both the track and the whole album: high-pitched guitar squeals that make your fillings itch coupled with merciless, suffocating heaviness. The Avenell-esque vocals top it off perfectly. Brilliant - punishing, but brilliant.
